Stan Goldstein Poker
At the start of Day 4 of the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event on July 13, 2010 there was an anticipation filling the room as every player knew the massive player pool would finally be narrowed down to 747 and the start of the cash payouts. Now that Day 4 is over there are just 574 players left, each guaranteed to win at least $24,079 in the $10,000 buy-in Main Event tournament. However, the players entering the money was not the biggest storyline of the day. Two-time WSOP Main Event winner Johnny Chan is in striking distance of his 11th WSOP bracelet and his 3rd Main Event title.
Johnny Chan Near the Top of the Field
Johnny Chan is currently sitting in 13th place out of the remaining 574 players and is well-positioned to win his record-tying 11th World Series of Poker bracelet. He is only one of two people to win back-to-back WSOP Main Events (1987-1988) and almost won another in 1989, but came runner up to current WSOP bracelet record holder Phil Hellmuth.
