After a huge Day 4 the World Poker Tour (WPT) 2010 Legends of Poker tournament at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles Andy Frankenberger, the former Wall Street trader, finished off the other five on Day 5 to become this year's Legends of Poker winner.
The Wednesday Aug. 25 win was Frankenberger's first WPT victory in only his second WPT tournament. Frankenberger had a strong chip count throughout and had the lead when he went to the final three up against experienced pro players Kyle Wilson and Tom Lee. Lee bowed out in hand #178 and Wilson and Frankenberger went head to head with Frankenberger holding a chip count lead of 8,960,000 to Wilson's 2,600,000.
Wilson took it to the 184th hand and was working on a diamond flush draw and when the turn card came up a jack of hearts he needed a diamond on the river to stay alive; instead he got a six of spades and Frankenberger won the hand with a pair of nines, the tournament and $750,000.
